“Dance is the hidden language of the soul of the body.”
It’s time to take a little break from native plants and go back to some figure drawing. I’m also returning to mixed media (aqueous acrylic, ink, graphite, charcoal and wax as a release). The focus of this Project is going to be dance and the expressive quality of the figure dancing. I won’t be working exclusively with dance but I will be seeking the expressive in movement and rest.
Early in my career in the Theater I did a lot of work with dance troupes as a stagehand to make some extra money and have done set and lighting design for a local ballet company; if you do not believe that dancers are artists and athletes who give their absolute all in the performance stand backstage some time and watch as they almost collapse after they come off.

I can always tell when a project is starting to loose it’s momentum and passion. I clean or find excuses to plot out new strategies of execution. Sometimes, all it takes is a comment from a friend to reawaken an idea I explored before. It is not that I start to lose my interest or don’t care anymore but the time is short and there are so many things to investigate, examine and learn about. So it is with my native plants not abandoned or left unfinished but waiting and tossing around the Bardo of the subconscious. In order to take advantage of my “restless” mind Ive decided to create some goals for my projects.
