Dance 15, the hidden language…graphite and aqueous acrylic

Dance 15 is really about fabric and placing a body underneath it. Fabric must have weight and the body form beneath it. Painting drapery has always been a challenge for me but there is only one way to learn how to paint fabric. You have to draw and paint fabric. Just as you learn to draw and paint the figure by drawing and painting the figure.

“It is essential to do the same subject over again, ten times, a hundred times. Nothing in art must seen to be chance, not even movement.”

Edgar Degas

Everything is raw material. Everything is relevant. Everything is usable. Everything feeds into my creativity. But without proper preparation, I cannot see it, retain it, and use it.
